BitTorrent Clients

There are a number of different programs you can use to download torrents. Each program works slightly differently, however they all interact with each other the same way using the BitTorrent protocol. This protocol defines how BitTorrent works, and helps people understand how to interact with other programs.

The protocol is open, which means that people can always create their own client - in fact, many people do! A quick search for 'torrent clients' reveals hundreds of options.
